Terms of service
Last updated: June 2026
1. Agreement
These terms govern your use of Deadletter.(“Deadletter”, “the service”), operated by Kovva from the Netherlands. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and our privacy policy.
If you do not agree, do not use the service.
2. The service
Deadletter is a webhook dead letter queue for software teams. It receives webhook events you route to it, stores them, forwards them to a destination URL you configure, retries failed deliveries, sends alerts, and lets you replay events from a dashboard.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice when practicable. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
3. Accounts
- You must provide a valid email address and keep your account secure.
- You are responsible for activity under your account and for your ingest URL secret.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction.
- One person or organization may not share accounts to circumvent plan limits.
4. Plans and billing
Deadletter offers Free and Pro plans. Current limits (events per month, retention, and features) are shown on the website and in your dashboard.
Paid subscriptions are processed by Paddle, which acts as merchant of record. Payment, tax, invoicing, and refund handling for subscriptions are subject to Paddle's terms and policies in addition to these terms. See our refund policy.
- Pro is billed monthly unless otherwise stated at checkout.
- You may cancel via the Paddle customer portal; access continues until the end of the paid period unless otherwise required by law.
- We may change pricing for future billing periods with notice; existing subscribers are notified before changes take effect on renewal.
- Usage beyond plan limits may be blocked until the next billing period or until you upgrade.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service for unlawful, harmful, or abusive purposes
- Send malware, spam, or content that violates third-party rights
- Attempt to probe, scan, or compromise the service or other users' data
- Resell or sublicense the service without written permission
- Route data you are not authorized to process through the service
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or pose a security or legal risk.
6. Your data and webhooks
You retain ownership of webhook payloads and related data you send through Deadletter. You grant us a limited license to store, process, forward, retry, and display that data solely to provide the service.
You are responsible for ensuring you have a lawful basis to process any personal data contained in webhooks you route through the service, and for configuring retention and alerts appropriately for your use case.
See the privacy policy for how we handle data, retention periods, and sub-processors.
7. Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Deadletter helps reduce the risk of lost webhook deliveries but does not replace your own monitoring, backups, or business continuity planning. You are responsible for verifying that replays and forwards behave correctly in your application.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Kovva and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) €100.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Dutch or EU law, including where caused by wilful misconduct or gross negligence.
9. Termination
You may stop using the service at any time. We may terminate or suspend access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service.
On termination, your right to use the service ends. Data is deleted according to the retention rules in our privacy policy.
10. Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-app notice where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Disputes shall be submitted to the competent courts in the Netherlands, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence if you are a consumer in the EU.
